Practice Urology Without the Burnout.

Work on your terms, with the flexibility and autonomy you want.

aa

The traditional employment model is breaking physicians.

You’re probably stuck in one of these situations:

  • Burnt out from endless administrative tasks. Chart notes. Prior auths. Billing codes. Committee meetings. When did you last spend time actually practicing medicine?
  • Locked into an inflexible schedule. You thought becoming a doctor meant freedom. Instead, you’re working someone else’s hours, following someone else’s protocols, living someone else’s life.
  • Feeling trapped in jobs that don’t fit your location or lifestyle. You don’t want to work full-time, but traditional locums work isn’t the answer either. Assignments get canceled at the last minute, leaving you without income or stability.

We built something better

VirtuCare is not traditional locum tenens. We are a team of urologists who have created a sustainable model that provides remote and in person opportunities to practice medicine.

You will finally have flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful work without the burnout.

Common questions

How much time do I need to commit?

For remote positions we ask for a minimum of one consistent day per week. This isn’t designed for occasional side work. We need physicians committed to providing consistent, quality care to these communities.

We have onsite opportunities one day a month or up to 7 consecutive days a month. We are willing to be flexible as long as you commit to at least 6 on-site shifts per year.

Do I have to travel?

Depends on the opportunity. Some positions are remote. Some positions may be local to you. Others involve travel to rural areas. We work with you to find what fits.

What about malpractice and credentialing?

We handle it all. We provide medical malpractice insurance with TAIL coverage. Our team assists with credentialing and the administrative burden related to being a doctor.

How quickly can I start?

Most remote physicians are credentialed and practicing within 8 weeks, depending on state requirements. If you have to obtain a state license, this can delay your start date. For onsite work, the primary delay for starting is payor enrollment with the insurance companies. Expect 4-6 months for starting onsite work.

What if I'm semi-retired?

Perfect. Many of our physicians are in the same boat. You want to keep practicing meaningful medicine without the full-time grind. That’s exactly what this is built for.

Is this just telemedicine?

No. In the remote positions, you will be teaching and guiding local advanced practice providers (APPs) like nurse practitioners. They will be the provider of record for in-person patients. In other cases you’re providing care in person at the hospital facility.

From physicians who
made the switch

“One of the things that I really love about VirtuCare is that it gives me a lot more flexibility than any of my other previous private practice jobs gave me. But it still allows me to be a real urologist.

I’m able to do lots of office procedures, see complicated patients in the office, and still do the elective surgeries that I like to do. Another thing that’s really great about VirtuCare is the other physicians that we work with.

Every physician here is on the same level of thinking, where we want to provide excellent and quality care to patients, but also make sure we’re providing quality coverage for each other.”
